Mei Yu has been part of the Mobility Wood family for over 7 years, she's been a constant strength in the East throughout multiple organization, team, and vendor changes. I would describe MeiYu as the ‘Perfect Mobility Professional’ and feel truly lucky to have her on my team. She is an incredible partner with an impressive grasp of a wide range of Mobility concepts and program management, working tirelessly (including evenings) to support the global success of the function.

She has made such an impact on my team and promoting Mobility within the business, feedback constantly received demonstrates why she is a worthy winner: MeiYu is one of the most astute, conscientious, dedicated Mobility professionals I have ever worked with. She is certainly leading the way in supplier-partner experience and commitment to the best achievable result possible. We have always enjoyed working with MeiYu, her leadership of her team and partnership with Bristol demonstrate the sophistication and expertise in the Mobility industry that puts her among the top client contacts that we work with globally.

SENIOR VP, BRISTOL GLOBAL MOBILITY

Working with Mei Yu for several years, I’ve lost count of the numbers of projects she’s supported, but for sure I can say that the most complex and difficult ones were successful because of her patience and enthusiasm to always find the right way to manage these. She was able to establish strong relationships with our third party providers, also helping to keep all stakeholders aligned and fully involved in this process, suggesting the most beneficial approach for the company, taking care of our candidates, always available to support them and taking care of all employees and their families.

P&O MANAGER, WOOD ITALIANA

When I say you are an excellent POC for the team, I know I speak for the entire team. Thank you for your efforts in keeping everyone on the same page, assisting other team members in prioritizing their tasks, explaining any complexities before moving forward, and, most importantly, helping others whenever possible. This is what makes you an asset not only to your team but also to Topia. I personally cannot image running this implementation without your constant support and 100% attendance on our weekly calls.

IMPLEMENTATION PROJECT MANAGER

MeiYu’s key achievements are endless, however a few notable ones as follows:

• Automation – taking the lead on our technology implementation with a 4 month turnaround • Process improvements – implementing initiatives which provided 331 days of savings • Dealing with pre-COVID move volume with a decreased team size • Project set-up in difficult new geographies, namely Uzbekistan and Mongolia • Effectively managing team members remotely, i.e. one of her team is India based • Her team has been responsible for mobilizing into 17+ countries, mobilizing on average 28 assignees per month • Overall accountability for a number of key ‘high volume’ assignment locations (Iraq, Israel, PNG, Azerbaijan) Using the words of Michelle Obama ‘there is no limit to what we can accomplish’ is certainly true of MeiYu!

Shumin Yeo - Micron Technology

I am hard pressed to think of anyone who has created a more significant, consistent record of achievement in global mobility in the APAC region than Shumin Yeo. Already the recipient of a Rising Star award EMMA in the Americas, Shumin's positive impact on the industry has become apparent to many across the globe. Yet her home base is Singapore and her primary focus from the beginning of her career has been on global mobility in APAC. She had achieved extraordinary things in her career to date.

Since conducting a Master Class at FEM APAC last year, Shumin continued to contribute to the global mobility profession in manifestly significant ways. These contributions include: iron-cast commitment to establishing and maintaining on behalf of Micron the most cutting edge program of support for talent mobility both globally and within APAC. Micron is an extraordinary example of a cutting edge US headquartered company with 48,000 employees worldwide, the majority of whom are Asia based. The 2022 Micron global mobility program in APAC alone involved just shy of 1,600 employee moves in the region: across Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Japan, India and China. Shumin led the Micron global mobility team worldwide during this time, and was the principal strategic partner with the vendor supporting Micron in both APAC and the USA.

Shumin drove consistent (re-)appraisal of program approaches for the vast move types within APAC which include literally hundreds of interns and new college grads, in addition to the more traditional types such as Short Term and Long Term moves, as well as Extended Business Travel. In addition to her substantial formal GM role within Micron, Shumin has been visibly active in promoting leadership among women at Micron and selflessly contributed to thought leadership initiatives through participation in a wide-variety of webinars and conferences on global mobility in APAC. She also joined the Lanch Committee of the APAC region's first professional association for the global mobility profession ATMA (Asia Talent Mobility Alliance) in 2022, which is formally to be launched in the summer of 2023. To date she has played a key role in the organizational design, as well as the foundational thought leadership program of webinars and design of a corporate mentor program: all with a resolute APAC focus.

Also in 2022, Shumin was recognized as one of The Most Admired Corporate Professionals in Global Mobility in the worldwide Benivo poll. And both Micron's global talent acquisition team and global mobility team (which Shumin leads) were recognized at the 2022 Employee Experience Awards in Singapore with the Gold award for Best Talent Mobility Program in APAC. As stated at the beginning of this submission: I am hard pressed to think of anyone who has created a more significant, consistent record of achievement in global mobility in the APAC region than Shumin Yeo.

Whether this be over the past several years, or over the past 12 months. She is a hugely deserving candidate for Global Mobility Professional of the Year in APAC for 2023.
