Yvette Blount
Dean and Associate Professor
Skyline Higher Education Australia

Dr Yvette Blount is the Dean at Skyline Higher Education Australia, where she is establishing and guiding the academic functions of this aspiring Institute of Higher Education. Yvette is in the process of developing new courses for accreditation with a core focus on information technology. She has extensive experience in curriculum development of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including business information systems and cybersecurity. Yvette is a Senior Fellow of HEA, which is evidence of her strong contribution to course development, leadership, and mentoring in learning and teaching.

Yvette’s role at Deakin University supports her research in anywhere working, supply chain, telehealth, cyber security (cyber governance, management, and ethics), blockchain, and other emerging technologies. These technologies are transforming the way we work, learn, live and play and helping define a future workplace founded on teleworking. Teleworking, or Anywhere Working, provides organisations with a sustainable competitive advantage by enhancing service quality and allowing organisations to be flexible and agile (during and post COVID19). Before her academic career, Yvette worked in senior and consulting roles in the banking and IT industries. Her academic and industry experience underpin her teaching philosophy: to create a learning environment so that each student can engage with the content in a way that makes sense to them.
